About the Position: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the Physical Evaluation Board Liaison Officer (PEBLO) for Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and its geographic area of responsibility. Performs counseling, data collection, medical coordination, and procedural work related to Medical Evaluation Board (MEB) processing and Temporary Disability Retired List (TDRL) reevaluations for the Army Community Hospital and it's associated commands.

Duties
Counsel military personnel from all branches of the uniformed services, retirees, and the families of those being processed through the Army Physical Disability Evaluation System (APDES) on their rights, benefits, privileges, or obligations.
Schedule appointments for National Guard and Reserve Component (RC) personnel for approved line of duty (LOD) related injuries.
Release medical information to authorized personnel in accordance with established guidelines.
Maintain hard copy and electronic medical information for personnel.
Counsel active and RC officers, enlisted and retired personnel and their families on health benefit related matters.
Refer beneficiaries to appropriate agencies to obtain counseling and/or guidance on benefits provided by the Department of Labor, Social Security Administration and Veterans Affairs (VA) and other servicing agencies.
Requirements
- This position may be eligible for situational telework pending approval by management.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a favorable result from a National Agency Background Check.
- This position may require the incumbent to work on any day or shift, including PMs, nights, weekends, holidays, or on an "on call" basis, necessary to meet mission requirements.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position may require incumbent to successfully complete the 6I-F4/340-F3 training and certification course within 180 days of employment and annually thereafter.
- Must become certified by successfully completing the PEBLO Distance Learning Course or attending the 40-hour Resident PEBLO Course within 180 days after accepting the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing automated systems to schedule injury evaluation appointments; coordinating the process of medical boards for personnel being treated in a medical facility; assisting with the preparation and/or conduct of various briefings and training for a department. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
