About the Position: Work is performed in an office setting at a desk in the Dental Health Activity HQ building. Hours are 7:30-4:30. Independently operates, administers, plans, initiates, and carries out duties with emphasis on personnel management, project management, financial management, automation management, facility oversight and clinical services. Situational Telework may be authorized.

Duties
Perform budget oversight for the activity headquarters and subordinate clinics.
Oversee Information Management staff responsible for the administration of automation issues.
Provide general direction on hiring, orientation, workload management, counseling, rating or other management actions.
Participate in regular meetings with management to address administrative issues, resolve problems, and provide recommendations for correcting or improving the program.
Monitor and validate input for dental specific software applications standard automated systems such as Corporate Dental Application (CDA).
Exercise supervisory responsibility for five or more administrative and support staff.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position may require the incumbent to complete a one-year supervisory probationary period.
- Temporary duty travel (TDY) of 5 % may be required.
- This position has been designated Mission Essential. In the event of severe weather conditions or other such emergency type situations, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position has been designated Weather Essential. In the event of inclement weather conditions, the incumbent is required to report to work or remain at work as scheduled to support mission operations.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Irregular tour of duties may be required.
Qualifications

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting with budget oversite within an organization; utilizing dental healthcare systems or software to enter and retrieve data; initiating personnel actions such as awards, recruitments, or reprimands of employees; and performing managerial tasks such as delegating workload and quality review of subordinate employees. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).
