Serves as an Engineering Technician within the Air Traffic Organization (ATO), Technical Operations (AJW), Operations Support, Navigation/Communications/Environmental Group (AJW-1500), Power and Environmental Systems Team (AJW-1510). Provides advanced technical and specialized expertise in support of the National Airspace System (NAS) systems.

Duties

The Engineering Technician will provide support to systems engineering functions that provide electrical power of quality, reliability, and availability to fully support the operational requirements of the National Airspace System (NAS). The position will provide broad experience and comprehensive technical knowledge of systems engineering functions, and provide guidance on, and resolution to, complex problems associated with the continued operation of commissioned facilities and resolution of problems related to the introduction of new systems into the NAS.

Qualifications

TO QUALIFY AT THE FV-I (GS/FG 13) LEVEL, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H (GS/FG10-12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes: experience and knowledge of the methods and techniques of engineering or maintenance. Applies practical knowledge in operations and maintenance in support of the National Aerospace System (NAS) facilities/equipment.In addition to the above qualifications, the following has been determined to be a Quality Ranking Factor (QRF). This means applicants who possess this factor are considered to be Well-Qualified.QUALITY RANKING FACTOR (QRF): Well qualified applicants will possess experience that includes responsibility for operations and/or maintenance support of building infrastructure components within the National Aerospace System (NAS), with one or more of the following subject areas/equipment: Chillers, building automation systems (BAS), elevators, sanitary systems, Engine Generators (EG), Automatic Transfer Switches (ATS), Static Automatic Transfer Switches (SATS), Uninterruptable Power Systems (UPS), Switchgear (GE or SqD), and/or Lightning Protection Grounding Bonding and Shielding (LPGBS).Applicants should provide examples of Specialized Experience in their Work History. Qualifications must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
