Serves as the Overseas Product Specialist in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as an Overseas Product Specialist reporting to the Chief, Overseas Distribution Branch Europe or Pacific and identifies opportunities that deliver category growth through insight-based recommendations to ensure that product assortment and savings support the overseas patron's needs.

Duties

Assesses trends, analyzes shopper data, and syndicated/point of sale data to identify key customer opportunities for growth using the DeCA master catalog as the source of products assortment available for stockage. Provides input to the development and execution of category review processes utilizing category analysis, shopper insights and available analytic tools in order to retain the proper stock overseas assortment based on DeCA's master catalog and Offshore Acquired (OSA) products. Develops assortment recommendations for new item introductions and product reviews. Incumbent considers the complexities of product self-life, distribution channels, DeCA distribution warehouse size, promotional, seasonal, and local product impacts when developing and approving assortment recommendations. Qualifications

You must meet the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) qualifications for series 1101 and additional requirements by the announcement closing date. Your resume must clearly show that you have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level or equivalent to at least GS-11 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military Examples of specialized experience includes: Understands goals and objectives, measurement metrics, business strategies, the sequence and timing of key program events and milestones, and overall methods to evaluate program accomplishments. Prepares a variety of written actions including staff studies, information papers, and memoranda relating to the management of product assortments. Utilizes various software and category expertise to provide recommendations for product assortment selection of new items and existing products in the master catalog You will receive credit for all relevant qualifying experience (paid and unpaid), including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date: Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.
