About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the ST-IC-W0V2AA US ARMY SPECIAL OPERATIONS COMMAND.

Duties

Serves as Special Security Officer (SSO) with functional responsibility for development, implementation, and overall management of all Sensitive Compartmented Information programs. Reviews all derogatory information from the local supporting military law enforcement agency involving SCI-indoctrinated personnel and takes appropriate action. Ensures SCI information is disseminated only to persons authorized access to the material and having an established need-to-know. Facilitates the administrative processes for all requests for information related to Foreign National visits, and release and disclosure of information.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
• In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
• Periodically, especially during periods of crisis, will be required to work overtime/irregular shifts.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI) based on a Tier 5 investigation/single-scope background investigation (SSBI).
• May require temporary duty (TDY) travel up to 25% of time.

This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment and the Physical Security Certification (PSC) within the next two years.
