This position is located on the Pine Ridge Forest Service Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Chadron, NE.
Incumbent is responsible for performing a variety of routine office automation and clerical support functions for the Center.

Duties
Perform office automation duties using a broad range of software and hardware to produce a variety of correspondence, reports, and office forms and other written material in final form.
Type, format, proofread, and edit correspondence and other documents, from notes or dictating machines, using computers or typewriters.
Provides general clerical support to the office staff.
Communicate with customers, employees, and other individuals to answer questions, and disseminate or explain information.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service or exempt.
- Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
- Successful completion of one-year probationary period, unless previously served.
- Per Public Law 104-134 all Federal employees are required to have federal payments made by direct deposit to their financial institution.

Qualifications

Specialized Experience Requirement:
GS-5 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least GS-4 grade level; OR a bachelor's degree or 4 years of successfully completed education above high school; OR combinations of successfully completed post-high school education (in excess of the first 60 semester hours) and specialized experience. The education must have been obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
Examples of specialized experience are: Performing general clerical support such as greeting visitors, maintaining files, and typing letters; assisting in the analysis of incoming routine and controlled correspondence, including mail, faxes, and documents; reviewing sections of agency or organizational directives and routine procedures to perform routine tasks such as correspondence work, filing processing mail, and assisting with travel, property management and procurement of office supplies.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
