You will serve as a SUPERVISORY POLICE OFFICER in the JOINT BASE PEARL HARBOR HICKAM SECURITY DEPARTMENT, OPERATIONS DIVISION of JB PEARL HARBOR HICKAM SEC DET. A Cost-of-Living-Allowance (COLA) of 9.28% will be added to the stated salary.

Duties

You will maintain status and progress of assigned work. You will be responsible for personnel professional development, logistics, and administrative issues of personnel assigned. You will conduct on-site inspections of law enforcement patrols to verify procedures are followed. You will patrol areas (e.g., warehouses, buildings, parking areas, commercial areas, flight lines) to maintain safety of personnel and property. You will explain rules, regulations, or precedents relating to routine police operations.

• You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver's license.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or pass the test. You will be subject to random testing.
• This position is considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
• This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
• Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
• Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
• You must meet the qualifications and be certified to carry a firearm. You will need to maintain firearm proficiency.

Qualifications

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Providing guidance to joint base security force personnel; 2) Coordinating the scheduling of security force personnel assigned to a shift; 3) Overseeing and directing the work of security personnel; and 4) Performing all duties of Police Officer by patrolling assigned areas of responsibility, responding to calls for service and engaging in traffic control.
