Duties

Serve as a supply representative for the facility. Perform duties concerned with the purchase, receipt, distribution, utilization, maintenance, disposal and accountability of supplies, equipment, materials and other property. Ensure that supplies and property items are properly, and in a timely manner received, identified, issued, and accurately recorded. Monitor and ensure that supply purchases are in compliance with appropriate regulations and the authorized source and method of requisitioning is selected (GSA, purchase request, credit card, contract). Verify quality and quantity of items ordered/received prior to payment to contractor/vendor. Perform administrative work including preparation of email correspondence directly related to vendor inquiries, telephone calls, faxes, personally answering routine questions and providing information, with little or no supervisory involvement.

  • TDY may be Occasionally.
  • A one year probation period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes reviewing purchase orders for completeness and accuracy; ensuring supply purchases are in compliance with appropriate regulations; conducting physical inventory of equipment and/or supplies in accordance with appropriate regulations; investigating invoice discrepancies and provide corrective action in order to rectify. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). OR Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Logistics Management or Supply Chain Management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Oral CommunicationSupply PlanningSupply SupportWritten Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-6).
