About the Position: Fort Eisenhower is approximately 139 miles east of Atlanta, GA; 80 miles southwest of Columbia, SC; 156 miles west of Charleston, SC; 175 miles southwest of Charlotte, NC; and 127 miles northwest of Savannah, Georgia. Fort Gordon's location is in the Augusta metropolitan area (also known as the Central Savannah River Area-CSRA) and is an easy drive to Atlanta, Savannah, Charleston, Charlotte, the beaches along the Atlantic Ocean, and the mountains.
Duties
Serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for GFEBS/cProjects data input and validations for the Work Management Branch.
Extract information from GFEBS/cProjects or other Real Property Management Systems to provide accuracy of cost estimate and performance data.
Assist Directorate of Public Work customers with Project Work Orders for Sustainment, Restoration and Modernization (SRM) of assigned facilities through consultations and site visitations as required.
Coordinate with other divisions within the Directorate of Public Works to recommend and discuss the proper sequence of Project Work Orders scope development and execution.
Establish and maintain project documentation supporting real property files, capturing all vital engineering and financial data for a facility to capitalize into the Army’s assets.
Update blueprints and ensure all data for real property folders are documented accurately to meet audit standards.
Perform on-site facility evaluations while operating a government vehicle up to ½ ton pickup to visit job sites.
Evaluate forms to determine which Installation Code Officials (ICO) are required to comment on projects.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires security background investigation.
- Must possess valid driver’s license to operate government vehicle up to ½-ton pickup.
- TDY is required up to 5% of the time.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing facility inspections, preparing construction working estimates, preparing construction sketches, and performing technical monitoring of construction contracts. Demonstrated experience in the execution of engineering and funding those current mission requirements utilizing current Army systems to include GFEBS/cProjects, PAVER and BUILDER. Specialized experience in the evaluation of construction requirements, engineering methods and practices. This definition specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
