About the Position: This position is within the Directorate of Public Works Business OPS/Integration Division.
Duties
Prepare cost analysis, analysis of deficiency and decision analysis for approval of said projects by the Director of Public Works and/or higher headquarters.
Perform technical monitoring duties in support of the Base Operations Contract for work order scheduling and tracking, detailed estimates for work requests, work order reception, and project accomplishment.
Prepare construction working estimates from brief statements of work requirements, designs, plans accompanying request, site investigations, and discussion with requester, as-built drawings, and reference to standards.
Perform facility component inspections to develop estimates and projects for maintenance and repair of structures, facilities, and roads.
Use office equipment such as calculators, architectural and engineering scales, measuring calculations, the Facility Engineering Estimating System, and other estimating guides
Meet with employees and managers in the same agency, both inside and outside the immediate office or related units, as well as members of the general public in moderately structures settings.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires you must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
- This position has a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 5% of the time.
- This position requires a valid, State-issued motor vehicle driver's license.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain any installation and/or Department of Defense (DOD) license required to Operate light motor vehicles to and from work sites.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience preparing cost and work estimates for repair, maintenance, alteration, and minor construction work involving a variety of construction and related trades. Experience utilizing estimating systems such as RSMeans to provide accurate estimates and projections for construction projects. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Two years of graduate level education in a field directly related to the work of the position, such as Engineering or Architecture.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages.
