About the Position: This position is located with the Defense Health Agency, Continental Network 9, at Falls Church, VA.
Duties
Responsible for the management and workflow of the Plans and Operations Directorate and assigns work based on priorities, selective consideration of the difficulty and requirements of the assignment and the capabilities of employees.
Lead medical crisis action team planning, execution, and after action review of events requiring military medical support and establishes and maintains liaison relationship with all Service level Medical Commands.
Ensure Service-related readiness needs are planned, and coordinated at Defense Health Agency Small Stand-Alone Medical Treatment Facilities and serves as a liaison as they relate to health care delivery, readiness requirements, and personnel.
Track, disseminate, evaluate, and develop, as needed, current and future operations for Defense Health Agency.
Prepare, coordinate, authenticate, review, publish, and distribute directives and plans for DHA. Evaluate and manage service-related activities, taskers, policies, and procedures.
Monitor and coordinate requirements for finished intelligence products or requests for intelligence production support.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position has been designated as "Key" and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization as doing so would seriously impair the capability of the organization to function effectively.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes aiding in the synchronization of healthcare operations to ensure effective communication and the dissemination of information in response to healthcare policies; respond to staff for all matters concerning training, operations and plans, and force development and modernization; ensures directives are synchronized and complete disseminating communications to ensure implementation of agency initiatives; consolidate healthcare operational data for leadership review; and prepare official responses, such as Congressional statements or agency reports, to meet high-level tasker
objectives.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-14).
