The primary purpose of this position is as a Information System Security Officer (ISSO) has the primary responsibility for maintaining situational awareness and initiating actions to improve or restore the information assurance (IA) posture as well as conducting annual security reviews of all IA controls and a test of selected IA controls.
Duties
Duty 1: Serves as a senior IT Specialist, Information System Security Officer (ISSO), and Security Risk Manager for 453 EWS.
Duty 2: Provides cybersecurity management for organizational projects.
Duty 3: Plans, organizes, coordinates, and manages cybersecurity activities to ensure availability, integrity, and confidentiality of mission and Defense Business Systems
Duty 4: Responsible for cybersecurity program coordination.
Duty 5: Responsible for providing cybersecurity education and training. Plans and coordinates the delivery of an IT security awareness training program for end users at all levels in the organization through in-person training or electronic communication such as bulletins or newsletters

- All new DCIPS employees are required to complete a two-year DCIPS trial period.
- Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented
Information (SCI), involvement in Top Secret Special
Access Programs (SAP) . A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under
the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug

assignments
- The employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends
and/or holidays.
- Information Assurance: Information Assurance Certification is a condition of employment. This position
includes information assurance (IA) work as a paramount duty requirement. Per DoD 8570.01-M, the incumbent
- of this position must achieve the appropriate IA certification within six months of assignment of these duties. A waiver
of this six-month requirement may be granted per DoD 8570.01-M, C3.2.4.2 or C3.2.4.3.

Qualifications
This is a GG-12 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-12 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Full Performance" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-12 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Information Technology (IT) Management Series 2210 (Alternative A)
BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT:
Education: All academic degrees and coursework must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions
Undergraduate or Graduate Education: Degree in computer science, engineering, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management or degree that provided a minimum of 24 semester hours in one or more of the fields identified above and required the development or adaptation of applications, systems or networks.
Experience
Experience must be IT related; the experience may be demonstrated by paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training (for example, IT certification), as appropriate
GS-5 through GS-15 (or equivalent): For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.

Examples of creditable experience include: Knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products, and services (including systems software, database software, immediate access storage technology, and firewalls), and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability and implementing, mitigating, improving, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures, of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews; of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry; familiar with telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems to advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications; ability to communicate effectively with various groups of people and develop and conduct training on information security.
Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of a full range of IT security principles, concepts, practices, products, and services (including systems software, database software, immediate access storage technology, and firewalls), and methods for evaluating risk and vulnerability and implementing, mitigating, improving, and disseminating IT security tools and procedures
Knowledge of IT INFOSEC security requirements for certification and accreditation, network operations and protocols, systems testing and evaluation, and performance management methods sufficient to plan and conduct security accreditation reviews for installed systems or networks and assess and advise on new or revised security measures and countermeasures based on the results of accreditation reviews
. Knowledge of Local Area Network (LAN) and Wide Area Network (WAN) security requirements and techniques for protecting computer systems from viruses, data tampering, and unauthorized system entry
Knowledge of a broad range of telecommunications concepts and principles, operating modes, systems, media, equipment, equipment configuration, and related software systems to advise on vulnerability to attack from a variety of sources (e.g., espionage, disruption of services, destructive programs/applications) and procedures and methods for protection of systems and applications.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to develop and conduct training on information security
