About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the 7th Signal Command, 93rd Sig. Brigade - Network Enterprise Center, Business Division, Business Operations Branch, with a duty location of Redstone Arsenal, AL.
Duties
Serve as a Security Specialist for multiple security programs, to include: Communications Security (COMSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security, and Force Protection.
Provide oversight on verification of Protective Distribution Systems (PDS) installations to ensure compliance with all regulatory guidance before initial certification.
Responsible for ensuring compliance with established Army Security regulations, policies and procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain TOP SECRET clearance based on a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) and eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Occasional shift work, holiday work, and compensated overtime required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-11).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
