About the Position: You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant for Contracting Division Chief with responsibility for performing a wide variety of technical and clerical duties associated with the organization.
Duties
Duties include time and attendance administration, small purchase buyer, preparation and review of travel documents in addition to duties below.
You will serve as section personnel liaison and prepare reports/correspondence, process incoming and outgoing correspondence and material, maintenance of records, property accountability activities and receiving visitors and phone calls.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Temporary duty (TDY) travel is approximately 5%.
- This position requires the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a driver's license in one of the 50 US states or possessions and any installation and/or DoD requirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing technical, administrative, and clerical tasks such as gathering and compiling information from various database sources; drafting correspondences, reports, and briefings; maintaining and organizing files and records; and responding to internal and external customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist types 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors. I can type at least 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with 3 or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
