The Program Support Assistant to the Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service programs. The incumbent retrieves, tracks, reviews, analyzes, and trends data to establish formal recommendations to senior leaders in the operational areas of the service.
Duties
The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant to the Mental Health & Behavioral Science Service programs which include the Psychosocial Rehabilitation & Recovery Center (PRRC); Mental Health Intensive Case Management (MHICM); and MHICM e-RANGE programs; Substance Abuse Clinic and Suicide Prevention Program; and Chiefs of Psychology and Psychiatry.
Answers calls from Internal and External customers
Performs timekeeping
Enters Veterans and Caregivers into Database
Creates and edits authorizations of approved care for service
Processes invoices for care
Uses a computer to create spreadsheets
Creates and maintains various computerized records and database's
Maintains program records
Manages a Purchase card
Inprocess and outprocesses employees into Service
Sorts and distributes mail
Orders program materials
Maintains office supplies
Enters workorders
Maintains computer and paper records
Drafts Memorandum for Records, SOPs, and MCPs
Maintains appointment calendar and and /or conference schedule
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 0830 - 1630. Ad-Hoc Telework may be available

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary but also requires some standing, walking, bending, lifting and carrying of light items. The work requires above average agility and dexterity. The incumbent may be called upon to drive a government vehicle.

Qualifications

Proficiency Requirements: Must be able to type 40 WPM
GS-05 grade level: One year of specialized experience (equivalent to the GS-XX grade level in the federal service); experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA's) and other characteristics to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized experience includes: performing standard clerical assignments by gathering data used to develop reports, reviewing documents for proper grammar, spelling and punctuation, and operating computer hardware and software (such as: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, or SharePoint). Examples of specialized experience include: Collect, compile, and track data and statistical information independently from existing data bases in order to provide comprehensive support; coordinate incoming data from a variety of sources, reviews documents, reports, and/or applications or omissions and inconsistencies, and ensures data entry is complete and accurate; develops and manages applicable facility contracts; reviews and distributes incoming mail, manages suspense's, prepares outgoing mail and prepares office correspondence; answers phones, responds to information inquires and takes messages, receives visitors and directs them to appropriate staff, and maintains filing systems.

Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at the GS-05 level. Applicants may also combine education and experience to qualify at this level. You must have an combination of specialized experience and education in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite is creditable at grades GS-3 through GS-5. Only education in excess of the first 60 semester hours (i.e., beyond the second year) is creditable toward meeting the specialized experience requirement. One full academic year of study (30 semester hours) beyond the second year is equivalent to 6 months of specialized experience. (TRANSCRIPTS REQUIRED)
