About the Position: This position is for a Supply Technician (Office Automation) located at Evans Army Community Hospital (EACH), Fort Carson, CO.

Duties

Conduct extensive and exhaustive searches for information and reconstruct records for complex supply transactions. Provide medical supply support for production, overhaul, repair, or other operations for urgent, critical and shortage items. Respond to a variety of customer, program reviews and vendor inquiries ensuring a positive customer experience. Manage the Government Purchase Card transactions used for medical supply purchases. Assist in preparing budget forecasts, i.e., demand and review, to determine categories and quantities of items. Type letters, reports, memo's and other related documentation using various computer software programs; spreadsheets, graphic software, charts, and word processing programs for presentations.

Requirements

  • The incumbent must make every attempt to report for work on time and/or remain on duty during severe weather conditions
  • A pre-placement medical examination is required.
  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • A qualified typist is required for this position.
  • May be required to take annual Influenza Vaccinations due to working in a medical facility.

Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) performing extension research to resolve medical logistic supply errors; 2) inventory management of medical supplies; 3) Utilizing automated database system or software program to prepare documents and reports; and 4) Maintaining account records, and vendor transactions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Decision MakingSupply PlanningTechnical Competence Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
