You will serve as a SUPERVISORY CERMONY & PROTOCOL SPECIALIST in the COMMANDER, NAVY DISTRICT WASHINGTON of HDQTRS NDW.

Duties

You will coordinate and interface with other Protocol and Ceremonies personnel to ensure adequate performance and mission readiness of assigned tasks. You will orchestrate, develop, and assess continuous process improvement initiatives across the management and delivery of Ceremonies and Protocol services. You will oversee orchestration, development, assessment and submission of Protocol and Ceremonial budget requirements to the PPBE process, Program Objective Memorandum and Program Review matters to include ORF funding requirements. You will plans and schedules ongoing projects and suspense item daily.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector Interpreting and applying Ceremonies and Protocol principles, methods, and practices; National and international civilian and military rules, procedures, and forums; and diplomatic customs to: 1) Plan and execute ceremonies, events and official functions; 2) Review, analyze, evaluate and resolve issues in Ceremonies and Protocol; 3) Manage budget to include forecasting costs increases for Ceremonial requirements, reallocating funding to address emergency situations, and develop out-year cost projections; and 4) Develop briefings, conduct regular in-progress reports and after-action reports, and coordinate conferences and meetings.
