The primary purpose of this position is to serve as logistical support for contingency exercises and deployment planning and execution.
Duties
Formulates long-range, emergency, and contingency logistics and mission plans.
Performs duties as logistics planner in the Deployment Control Center.
Provides technical guidance on logistics matters to other unit both within and outline the squadron.
Conducts war and emergency planning and monitors related training, tests. and exercises.
Develops, coordinates, controls, and monitors Base support plans
Serves as AAC War Readiness Material (WRM) manager.

- Incumbent is subject to be on call on 24-hours a day, 7 hrs a week basis in support of exercises, emergencies, or war plans. The incumbent may be expected to work 12-hour shifts during these periods.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial transportation to accomplish temporary duty.
- This work involves normal walking and physical dexterity. Frequently gives briefings where prolonged standing may be necessary.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-09, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes knowledge of readiness and contingency planning principles, concepts, and directives as they pertain to deployment operations, war reserve material management, base/expeditionary reception and support, re-deployment, mobility bags, air terminal operations and support agreements; and knowledge of security, safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws, and regulations related to security and the safety program, risk assessment methods, and techniques for evaluating security and occupational safety and health risks pertaining to deployments, base support, and ware materials. NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.

EDUCATION: ???????Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related from an accredited college or university.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-09 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-11 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge and skill in the application of DOD, Joint and AF logistics planning principles, concepts and directives as they pertain to deployment operations, war reserve material, base reception, and support agreements.
2. Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices and procedures.
3. Ability to plan, organize, and direct.
4. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
5. Knowledge and skill to gather, assemble, and analyze facts, draw conclusions, devise solutions to problems, and identify changes and trends.
???????6. Knowledge of organizational structure and functions of activities involved in providing logistical support.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
