About the Position: The person in this position will serve as the supervisor and lead point of contact for Template Management function assigned to Clinical Support Department, Healthcare Operations Directorate of a major Medical Center or Ambulatory Health Care Center.

Duties
Direct the operations of the Template management function.
Initiate training programs to appropriately educate scheduling supervisors.
Responsible for development and maintenance of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on DHA standards, higher headquarters policy, guidance and regulations.
Coordinate with department/clinic chiefs to ensure changes, updates or new appointment protocols or clinic policies are addressed and requirements are being met developing new, updated or modified internal appointment system policy and processes.
Develop and/or maintain a variety of data capture and assessment tools and systems which employ qualitative and quantitative techniques to analyze appointing and access-to-care data.
Communicate changes and scheduling protocols to staff.
Give written and oral presentations/orientations regarding the Patient Appointment System.
Establish performance standards and prepares performance appraisals for employees supervised.
Initiate required corrective measures or provides alternative courses of action necessary to meet strategic plan objectives and policies.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes providing administrative or clinical management in a health care environment; analyzing health care information to evaluate and/or recommend improvements for the effectiveness or efficiency of health care services; providing administrative or technical oversight to subordinate staff members; and providing management advice on matters pertaining to coordinating personnel matters in a medical treatment facility. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
