Duties
Serve as the DHN-East subject matter expert for patient programs, focusing on eligibility, registrations, and entitlements.
Manage patient movement activities and coordinate with the Global Patient Movement Requirements Center.
Oversee the management of the Joint's Disability System, including various disability evaluation systems.
Develop policies and procedures for DHN Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) medical records programs.
Evaluate DHN's HIMSS contracts for appropriateness.
Serve as the subject matter expert for HIPAA compliance, ensuring adherence to HIPAA Core Terms.
Provide support to DHN Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) regarding HIPAA compliance and coordinate training.
Analyze new legislation and DoD/Joint policies to assess their impact on military personnel and families.
Manage the regional Management Control Program and coding compliance program.
Requirements

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) overseeing operations and policy development in a medical organization or network; 2) ensuring compliance with governing regulations to include Health Insurance Portability and Privacy Laws; and 3) reviewing legislation for impact to medical facility and patient care. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-13).
