About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Joint Interagency Task Force South, C41 Systems Directorate, Customer Service Division, U.S. Southern Command, Key West, FL. 33040, J64.

Duties

Maintains circuit records including restoration reports, circuit routing files and other tech control reports, and procedures. Serves as the Watch Operations Officer of the JIATF South Technical Control Division. Provides Customer Service support (24hrs) handling complaints, trouble calls, and resolving issues. Ensures the proper operation, tuning, testing, alignment, inspection, and configuration of C5I equipment necessary to meet the JIATF South mission. Research and provide up-to-date technical manuals and SOPs to be used as base documents for all training. Monitors/performs preventative and corrective maintenance on C5I equipment.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance based on an SSBI with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • Temporary Duty (TDY) travel may be required 25% or less of the time.
  • Shift work is required to include nights, weekends, and holidays. In the event of an emergency (e.g., inclement weather, disaster converage, etc.), may be required to work report for duty outside of scheduled shift.

In addition to the specialized experience listed above, your resume must show you have Information Technology-related experience. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT and should include information technology related experience (paid or unpaid experience and/or completion of specific, intensive training, as appropriate) which demonstrates each of the four competencies, as defined: Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
