About the Position: Serve as the Security Officer (Physical/Personnel) with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Great Lakes and Ohio River Division Headquarters (LRD) in Cincinnati, OH.

Duties

Serve as a staff security specialist for LRD Headquarters and exercise staff supervision over security programs operated at the districts. Perform staff planning and management functions in both physical and personnel security administration. Ensure the implementation and operation of the Physical Security Program in accordance with applicable guidance. Responsible for procedures pertinent to the physical protection of classified and other material identified as security sensitive. Provide protection systems and devices to ensure that such material is not compromised, sabotaged, subject to malicious mischief, or other forms of willful interference. Provide guidance and monitorship pertinent to civilian and military position security sensitivity Support work in the planning and management of security inspections and surveys at the districts, crime prevention programs and criminal investigation matters, the DOD Industrial Security Program, and support in intelligence operations. Responsible for the operational security, signal security, and LRD participation in Army Intelligence Command programs.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent obtain the following core SPeD Certification: Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) within their first two years of employment.
  • This position has been identified for the Security Professional Education Development (SPeD) Certification Program. This is the Department of Defense (DoD) Security Certification Program directed by DoD Instruction 3305.13.
  • TDY Travel 25%
  • Top Secret Security Clearance required.
  • Testing designated position - Agency drug test required.
