You will serve as a Engineering Technician in the Office of the Assistant Vice President for Administration, Facilities Management Directorate (FMD), Operation & Maintenance (O&M) Division of UNIF SRVS UNI OF THE HLTH SCI.
Duties
You will make frequent on-site engineering oriented inspections of facilities and grounds to determine current and future repair and replacement needs.
You will prepare and develop necessary data for units requiring approval and funding by higher authority.
You will coordinate and oversee repair and maintenance activities to assure timely accomplishment and/or minimum interruption to the USU Community.
You will work with professional engineers in design and planning pertaining to new construction.
You will secure detailed cost estimates, project specifications, bid documents, and work requirements and compile justification data to support program and projects.
You will determine priorities for work orders and advise on revisions required based on changes in plans, effective utilization, and advisable substitutes.
You will serve as a representative fir the contractors performing maintenance, repair, alteration, construction, custodial and grounds keeping work and services.
You will create and maintain electronic and hard copy project files to record all construction related documentation required by legal documents.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying technical engineering methods and practices to interpret technical work documents for the design and planning of new construction and the repair and maintenance of facilities and grounds.
