You will serve as an ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN in the CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS DIVISION of NAVAL FAC ENGINEERING CMD WASH.
Duties
You will analyze project requirements to ensure compliance with rules and regulations.
You will interpret technical drawings to ensure specification requirements are met.
You will conduct pre-final and final inspections to ensure completed work complies with contract requirements.
You will demonstrate knowledge of project delivery methods to include design-bid-build or design-build.
You will ensure the project progresses on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with all applicable technical, safety and quality control requirements.
You will implement the Contractors QC and the Governments Quality Assurance (QA) systems, tools designed to support the management of construction and environmental restoration work.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Monitoring construction projects to successful completion while controlling time and cost growth; 2) Reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and/or statements of work for constructability and accuracy; 3) Using knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures,law, and/or regulations to ensure engineering performance requirements are met; 4) Recommending solutions to solve construction-related technical problems that deviate from standard or conventional practices due to conditions, such as climate, geography, or environment.
