About the Position: This position is for an IT Specialist (INFOSEC/PLCYPLN) with the US Army Space & Missile Defense Command, Deputy Chief of Staff, G-3, OPS Division, Cyber Mission Assurance Branch, located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Duties
Serve as an Information Technology (IT) Specialist with a primary focus on Cybersecurity Policy and Risk Management Framework (RMF).
Serve as an Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in the G-6 Cybersecurity Policy and Risk Management Branch.
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert and provide Command level oversight for all aspects of Risk Management Framework, cybersecurity policy and compliance of all Information Systems at all US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC locations.
Develop, maintain, and oversee metrics, documents, presentations and databases containing detailed information on all operational and administrative, networked and standalone USASMDC systems.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to random drug testing. Selected applicants are required to sign a DA 5019 requiring participation in random drug urinalysis testing; verified positive results may be refused employment.
- This position may require travel to other duty locations up to 25% of the time.
- This position requires a Top Secret security clearance to be obtained and maintained for the duration of employment.
- This position requires Information Assurance certification IAW DoD 8570.01-M and Army requirements to be obtained within six months of employment and maintained for the duration of employment.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes applying methods for evaluating IT security tools and procedures, IT security certification and accreditation requirements, and network operations and protocols; applying a wide range of information assurance and security administration concepts, principles, practices, methods, policies, and regulations, such as those pertaining to physical security, information security, personnel security, operations security, and information assurance as it relates to information technology processes; utilizing systems security certification and accreditation requirements and processes, such as the Risk Management Framework (RMF). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band or equivalent grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02/GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (NH-02/GS-11).
