About the Position: This position is located with US ARMY WAR COLLEGE ARMY HERITAGE & ED CENTER (AHEC) EDUCATION & ENGAGEMENT DIVISION.
Duties
Manage promotional materials in support of the organization's educational program.
Provide organizational information to patrons.
Manage the complimentary Strategic Art Film Program per U.S. Army War College guidance.
Maintain unclassified office files in accordance with organization policy.
Manage U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center Volunteer program per Army regulations.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A one year trial period may be required.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Must be willing to perform Temporary Duty (TDY) outside of assigned duty station 5% of the time.
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

This position is obligated. An obligated position is one to which an employee has statutory restoration rights based on active military service, compensable injury or disability when fully recovered, return rights based on having served an overseas tour(s), and may also cover employees who have been on extended leave without pay under certain circumstances. During the obligation period, the position may be filled on a temporary or permanent basis. The selected employee is required to sign an agreement acknowledging that (s)he is aware of the obligation and accepts the fact that (s)he may be displaced under reduction in force procedures at a later time.
This is a TERM not to exceed 24 months position with the option to be extended up to 8 years at the discretion of the agency. At the discretion of the agency, this position may be converted to career-conditional or career after 2 years in the competitive service
In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Answering questions regarding an organization's programs, 2) Coordinating information materials in support of the organization's educational program; 3) Maintaining office files in accordance with organization procedures.. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04).
OR
Education: Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of education beyond two years (total semester hours minus 60) by 60. Add the two percentages.
