This position is located at Departmental Offices,Management CFO- Info Systems and CIO. As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will provide leadership and expert technical advice on developing, implementing and assessing cybersecurity policies, processes and programs to ensure the security and reliability of Treasury information systems.
Duties
As an Information Technology Specialist (INFOSEC), you will:
Provide technical expertise to the design, development, and implementation of cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Analyze findings and provide associated reporting and follow up for cybersecurity solutions to minimize risks, mitigate vulnerabilities, prevent security incidents, and ensure systems' reliability.
Consult with top management officials to develop strategies and policies that govern implementation and monitoring of cybersecurity controls throughout the Department.
Lead cybersecurity budget efforts and project teams to implement and assess cybersecurity capabilities and processes.
Maintain comprehensive knowledge of new technology and other developments affecting cybersecurity and information technology in general.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized Experience for the GS 14: You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as experience:
- Developing, defining, managing and documenting IT projects specific to cybersecurity; AND
- Overseeing and controlling goals, costs, resources, performance and risk mitigations relating to IT projects specific to cybersecurity; AND
- Applying cybersecurity requirements to the identification and measurement of cybersecurity risk elements applicable to the security assessment, authorization and operation of IT systems, and the development, tracking and reporting of associated metrics necessary for monitoring the cybersecurity posture of those systems.
In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed
below.
