Duties

Prepares and updates as necessary throughout the information system life cycle, cost-benefit analysis for major IT systems or investments (at a level of detail appropriate to the size of the investment). Develops baseline and projected IT requirements for management. Monitors and evaluates progress towards established goals for IT actions on a DLA-wide basis. Provides project management for a variety of IT initiatives including MILCON projects, facility projects (including green initiates), measuring and analyzing facility metrics, provides documentation for inclusion into the Site Certification and .... .... Accreditation System Security Authorization Agreement (SSAA), participates in the Design Review Board meetings, and provides total asset and system visibility including the population and support of maintenance, contract information, .... .... application and facility information and for constructing relationships between assets within the Asset Management Tool. Establishes and maintains procedures that will satisfy the budget schedule, process, cycle, and coordinates, formulates, and composes supporting planning documents. Provides Continuity of Operations (COOP) emergency notification management and provides support to the Disaster Recovery Manager by participation in desktop exercises, recall exercises, disaster recovery exercises and assists with .... .... the selection of disaster recovery technologies.

Qualifications

To qualify for an IT Specialist (PLCYNPLN/INFOSEC), your resume and supporting documentation must support: Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the particular competencies to successfully perform the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position. To qualify at the GS-12 level, applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military or private sector. Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade (General Schedule (GS) positions only), time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements by the cut-off/closing date of the announcement. Creditable specialized experience includes: Ability to research, analyze, and make recommendations to management, in order to provide better alternatives to current continuous processing operations. Evaluates savings, benefits, and/or cost avoidances of proposed IT solutions relating to economic analysis. Budgeting and understanding accounting systems and the Life Cycle Management Model to address IT issues from inception through obsolescence/replacement. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
