About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services Police/Provost Marshall Division, Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville. Both visitors & residents enjoy the shops & eateries of downtown Hopkinsville & Clarksville. The cost of living is lower than the average for all major U.S. cities.
Duties
Perform a variety of clerical, administrative and office automation functions in support of the Installation Provost Marshal Office and the Directorate of Emergency Services (DES).
Review and correct administrative deficiencies found in incoming, unclear and incomplete Military Police Law Enforcement Reports (LER).
Process all restricted, and re-instated, driving privilege requests and administrative hearing requests for the installation.
Conduct background checks for law enforcement purposes annotating any founded derogatory information and final adjudication as it applies, and returns form to the requester.
Provide assistance to customers, walk-in visitors, and telephone callers.
Requirements
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- This position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- A Qualified Typist is required.

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.
Specialized experience is defined as: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 grade level in the Federal service which includes: 1) Reviewing reports that deals with the pertinent Department of Defense policies and law enforcement codes and regulations not limited to: Uniform Code of Military Justice (UCMJ); and 2) Preparing driving privilege requests for soldiers, dependents, civilian and contractor personnel or other persons cited for driving without a license; driving with a suspended, revoked; or DUI / alcohol or a controlled substance or careless and reckless by speed or manner driving offense; And 3) Understanding of the interrelationship among charges and offenses to validate codes and to follow appropriate protocols as to the jurisdiction over specific cases.

Education Substitution for Specialized Experience: Four year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree must have at least 24 semester hours of course work in the field(s) related to the position from accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university, related to the position. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. (To compute the percentage, divide you total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your undergraduate semester hours by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
