About the Position: This position is located with the Directorate of Emergency Services - Provost Marshal Division on Fort Campbell, KY. Fort Campbell lies on the Kentucky/Tennessee border between Hopkinsville, KY & Clarksville, TN about 45 miles NW of Nashville.

Duties

Serve as the Supervisor of the Installation Provost Marshall Office, Police Administrative Services Branch. Provide technical oversight to a staff engaged in office automation and clerical work involved in processing Military Police (MP) reports. Ensure the proper release of For Official Use Only (FOUO) and sensitive law enforcement related information. Maintain all electronic and manual records and documents related to processing Military Police (MP) reports, exclusion orders and drivers' privilege suspension/revocation.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position requires incumbent to serve a 1 year Supervisory probationary period upon entrance into the position.
  • Position requires incumbent to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience for Supervisory Police Administration Assistant: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Advising employees on procedures for providing office administrative support; 2) Recommending changes to administrative procedures; 3) Delegating work assignments for peer or subordinate employees; 4) Review correspondence intended for higher HQs for grammatical errors and spelling; and 5) Tracking and executing budgeted expenditures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07). OR Education: One and a half years of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Police Administration or Criminal Justice. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond one year (total semester hours minus 18) by 9. Add the two percentages. AND Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: LeadershipManages Human ResourcesTechnical CompetenceWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07). Applicants must meet eligibility requirements including time-in-grade, time-after-competitive appointment, minimum qualifications, and any other regulatory requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement. NOTE: To support the Advancement requirement you MUST submit a copy of your latest non-award SF-50/NPA that reflects your highest grade held on a permanent basis along with your application/resume package. Failure to do so may affect your rating or consideration for employment.
