The position is located within the Shared Service Center (SSC). The Lead Human Resources Specialist performs multiple, varying, and complex HR and pay related assignments under the minimal direction of a manager or other experienced professional. Contributes to accomplishing large work assignment and leads the Payroll Liaison Staff on projects/programs and various work activities.

Duties

Incumbent serves as a senior Human Resources (HR) Specialist in the Shared Service Center and leads a team of HR professionals whose primary functions involve processing payroll related actions and secondarily processing personnel actions in the Federal Personnel and Payroll System (FPPS). Performs multiple, varying, and complex assignments under the minimal direction of a manager or more experienced professional. May act as a contributing specialist on large work activities or as a project manager or team leader for large projects, programs, and activities.

Requirements

  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Must submit an SF50 (See Required Documents)
  • Successful completion of a security investigation may be required
  • A one-year probationary period may be required

Qualifications

To qualify for this position at the FV-I (GS/FG 13) level, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-H (GS/FG 12) level. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE includes experience using an automated system to process payroll related actions and various other personnel actions; experience with applying pay setting guidance to verify pay; experience with working within a team to solve problems, achieve goals and objectives through combined cooperative efforts.Applicants should include examples of specialized experience in their Work History/Resume.Qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this vacancy announcement.
