This position serves as the principal clerical and administrative support position in the immediate organizational unit by carrying out and coordinating all the clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities which are typically required to accomplish the work of the organization.
Duties
Reviews and analyzes incoming staff actions, correspondence, and other actions generated internally and externally.
Manage, analyze, and monitor tasks and suspense.
Maintains tracking and status logs.
Researches and obtains background information for required actions.
Establishes and maintain administrative and personnel files (6-part folders) as required.
Assists with schedules and respond to administrative problems brought to the Supervisor's attention.
Manages and Tracks section Action Items for timeliness.
Manages incoming mail and outgoing mass mailing projects.
Assists supervisor in coordinating efforts to ensure patient concerns are received, evaluated, and addressed in a timely and effective manner by the appropriate subject matter experts.
Promotes consistent communication for both internal and external customers to improve the Veterans experience.
Establishes and maintain good relations with various groups and organizations.
Employs the highest standard of customer service skills when dealing with internal and external customers
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00-4:30pm, subject to change based on the needs of the facility.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 11/14/2023.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-06 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-05. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Skill with use of computer software, health care system Share Drives, SharePoint, as well as the use of Microsoft Access and Excel as tools in developing databases, spreadsheets, tracking forms, graphs, and charts to reflect data.
Must be a fully qualified typist.
Skill in maintaining effective working relationships with both internal and external customers in order to provide administrative support.
Skill in written communication and verbal communication in order to provide administrative support.
Skill with Establishing and maintaining administrative and personnel files (6-part folders) as required.

Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary. There will be some walking, standing, bending and carrying light items and shall involve travel to other locations.
