This position serves as the principal clerical and administrative support position in the immediate organizational unit In or for which the persons assisted have responsibility, by carrying out and coordinating all the clerical and day-to-day administrative support activities which are typically required to accomplish the work of the organization. The nature and variety of the activities depend on the needs of the organization served.
Duties
Provides program support and administrative assistance to the Medical Center, Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, corporate functions, managers, and supervisors.
Research and obtain background information for required actions through use of automated databases.
Review new or changed policies, procedures, and regulations affecting assigned responsibilities and assure implementation.
Manage, analyze, and monitor taskers and suspense.
Monitor all actions through to completion; review actions for conformance with guidance, thoroughness, and content to ensure that issues are properly answered.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 and to 4:30 pm, subject to change based on needs of the facility.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 04/08/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. In this instance, you must provide an additional SF-50 that clearly demonstrates one-year time-in-grade. Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
You may qualify based on your experience and/or education as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Specialized Experience is defined as:
Coordinates the administrative or clerical work of an office to provide administrative support and general assistance.
Utilize information management systems such as health care system Share Drives, SharePoint, as well as the use of Microsoft Access and Excel to develop spreadsheets, tracking forms, graphs, and charts to reflect data.
Communicate verbally and in writing to provide administrative support and general assistance to the Medical Center, Chief of Staff, corporate functions, managers, and supervisors.

Physical Requirements: This position is conducted in an office and the work is usually sedentary, but it requires periods of walking, standing, bending, or climbing, and employees may carry light items such as books, instruments, laptops, and other similar materials.
