You will serve as a HUMAN RESOURCES ASSISTANT (MIL/OA) in the INSTALLATION PERSONNEL ADMINISTRATION CENTER, QUALITY ASSURANCE BRANCH of MARINE CORPS RECRUIT DEPOT.
Duties
You will review the Timeliness Management Report to identify deficient pay and personnel management policies, procedures, and practices.
You will conduct monthly and quarterly audits, ensuring that Military Pay Orders (NAVMC 11116), Separation/Travel Pay Certificate (NAVMC 11060) are prepared correctly and submitted/reworked in a timely basis.
You will conduct audits of Electronic Service Record (ESR).
You will conduct 30% audits on new join packages 60 days from join date for each month.
You will conduct annual administrative functional area analysis via established inspection program protocol in preparation for Inspector General (IG) and Marine Corps Administrative Analysis Team (MCAAT) inspections.
You will review new join travel entitlements and Defense Travel System (DTS) Authorizations/Vouchers.
You will conduct audits of Separations packages.
You will conduct Member to Member Records audits.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is eligible for part time, substantial or ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management.
- This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector improving internal control procedures; conducting audits; assisting in the administrative support to include payday verification and processing pay documents; AND maintaining records and files.
