About the Position: Serve as an Awards Specialist supporting the Civilian Awards Program and providing awards guidance and assistance to Acquisition Support Center (ASC) and Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASA(ALT)).
This is a pay banded position. The NH-02 band encompasses grades 5 to 11 under the General Schedule (GS) system.
Duties
Responsible for the receipt, logging, processing, proofing, boarding, and quality control of all award recommendations for ASC/ALT(ALT) and forwards them to the appropriate reviewing/approving officials.
Serves as a focal point on issues concerning awards and decorations.
Upon request of the Command and serviced Directorates, serves as Master of Ceremonies (MC) for presentation of awards.
Processes the upper range of civilian awards.
Ensures each award recommendation is entered into the Enterprise Task Management Software Solution (ETMS2) for tracking and monitoring. Queries the database and develops reports to manage the awards program.
Prepares staff papers and briefings relative to new developments, changes, or issues that affect the awards program.
Prepares, staffs, and implements policy statements/updates and SOPs pertaining to the operation of the awards program.

- This position is designated as moderate risk involving Public Trust. Must be able to pass a background investigation including a credit check to determine suitability for Federal employment and/or the position.

Specialized Experience: One year experience equivalent to the NH-01/GS-4 grade level or equivalent pay band in the Federal service that includes: 1) Experience preparing award processing procedures for publication and distribution throughout an organization; 2) Providing guidance to managers for use in managing and promoting awards to their respective organizations; and 3) Administering briefings and trainings to incentive awards coordinators, supervisors, and managers on the incentive awards program.
