About the Position: This position is located in the Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Use Automated Supply/Maintenance Management Systems such as Global Combat Support System (GCSS). Work along with other workers setting the pace. Check work in progress and when finished. Answer workers' questions regarding procedures, policies, written instructions, and other directives (e.g., technical orders). Work with technician, and/or technical engineers to implement modifications as approved.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968.
  • Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position. Candidates under consideration will be required to certify whether they have ever been convicted of such an offense.
  • This position is covered by the Civilian Drug Abuse Testing Program.
  • Incumbent is required to a sign a DA FORM 5019-R, “Condition of employment for certain Civilian positions identified as critical under the Drug Abuse Testing Program, or a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
  • A job offer to an applicant who is not a current employee will be withdrawn if the applicant refuses to be tested. Applicants with verified positive test results shall be refused employment.
  • Applications from such individuals shall not be considered for employment for a period of 6 months from the date of the test results.
  • Incumbent will have to pass a pre-employment physical to meet Physical Efforts requirements; i.e., heavy lifting. This person may require an annual physical or medical surveillance examination.
  • The incumbent must be capable of operating a motor vehicle and maintaining a valid state driver's license. The incumbent will be required to obtain a government driver's license.
  • Operate a variety of Government vehicles to include light weight trucks and other vehicles weighing up to and including 5 tons on highways, both on and off the installation.

Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)Ability To Lead or SuperviseAbility To Use and Maintain Tools and EquipmentKnowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)Trouble ShootingUse of Measuring Instruments PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work requires frequent bending, pushing, pulling, walking, long periods of standing. Frequently lifts and carries items weighing 20 pounds, may lift items as heavy as 90 pounds; when lifting items weighing 50 pounds or more two persons are required. Weapons Shop or unit Arm Rooms do not have weight handling equipment, overhead cranes or forklifts readily available for heavier equipment. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works in a building that is well lighted, heated and ventilated. Frequently stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. May work outside occasionally. Exposed to grease,oil, and solvents. Subject to cuts and bruises; subject to noise and serious injury when test firing weapons.
