About the Position: This position is located in the Tank-Automotive and Armament Command (TACOM) Field Support Operations, Fleet Management Expansion, Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri.

Duties

Determine equipment, supplies, and maintenance required. Review work in progress or on completion. Investigate work related problems or low productivity and determine causes; implement corrective actions; and recommend solutions. Review and recommend improvement of work methods, organization features, and the structuring of positions to eliminate unnecessary ones and achieve optimum production from those remaining. Use Automated Supply/Maintenance Management System to maintain production reports and records. Determine how many assignments can be done concurrently, which ones must be delayed, and the number and types of employees needed, considering skill, materials and equipment available. Compose and prepare correspondence relative to the Weapons Repair Shop. Provide expendable and non-expendable supplies.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position requires a medical examination. The incumbent is required to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • This position is subject to the Lautenberg amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968 which makes it a felony for anyone who has been convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence to ship, transport, possess, or receive firearms or ammunition.
  • Civilian personnel of the Department of the Defense are not exempt from this provision. Therefore, as a condition of employment, selectee will be required to sign a form acknowledging understanding of this provision.
  • This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
  • The incumbent is required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified Critical Under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).
  • Must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • A job offer to an applicant who is not a current employee will be withdrawn if the applicant refuses to be tested. Applicants with verified positive test results shall be refused employment.
  • Applications from such individuals shall not be considered for employment for a period of 6 months from the date of the test results.
  • Operate a variety of Government vehicles to include light weight trucks and other vehicles weighing up to and including 5 tons on highways, both on and off the installation.
  • One-year supervisory probationary period required. A one-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
  • As a supervisor, you must comply with the Army Civilian Education System (CES) course and timeline requirements.
  • The Supervisory Development Course (SDC) must be completed within one year of placement into a supervisory position and then completed as a refresher course every three years.

Working Conditions: Works in a building that is well lighted, heated and ventilated. Frequently stands on hard surfaces for extended periods of time. May work outside occasionally. Exposed to grease,oil, and solvents. Subject to cuts and bruises; subject to noise and serious injury when test firing weapons.
