About the Position: This position supports the mission of the Deputy Assist Director, Medical Affairs, Clinical Support Division, Integrated Clinical
Quality Support Branch and it is located in Falls Church, Virginia or San Antonio, Texas.

Duties
Support leadership on all matters and program management and oversight pertaining to credentialing, privileging, and licensure policy, specific functional programs, and issues.
Serve as a DHA functional expert and provides support to Credentialing and Privileging Program (CP) in interactions within DHA.
Support CP with extensive coordination efforts with the three Services and other Federal agencies on a broad range of policies that bear on the subjects of credentialing and privileging and licensure.
Support CP development of protocols and methodologies to monitor the operation of DHA credentialing and privileging practices.
Proficient in working with medical statistics and data, including databases and quality control procedures.
Provide consultative services to all MHS treatment facilities and other organizational components in fulfilling facility regulatory, accreditation, and organizational program requirements.

- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) assisting in the advisement to leadership for resolution of healthcare credentialing and/or privileging issues, 2) verifying work for healthcare agencies meet acceptable standards, deadlines, and budgetary constraints, AND 3) assisting in the implementation of improvements in support of healthcare credentialing and privileging. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
