The Asset Forfeiture Management Staff (AFMS) is responsible for the administrative management functions of the Department of Justice's Asset Forfeiture Program (AFP), including: managing the Assets Forfeiture Fund; managing and supporting the Consolidated Asset Tracking System (CATS) database; supporting contracts; reviewing and auditing financial controls; reporting on legislative policy; and overseeing the budgeting and execution of the Asset Forfeiture Fund to further law enforcement efforts.

The duties and responsibilities of this position generally include, but are not limited to, the following:
Advises management on major information technology product and service issues.
Leads, conducts, and participates in complex management studies and reviews which have widespread or significant effects upon the promotion of the agency or department wide information technology products and services.
Manages, defines, and participates in telecommunications change management procedures and policies to ensure the integrity of the documentation and the network management system.
Performs analysis of equipment needs for long-range organizational information technology planning, taking into consideration rapidly changing equipment technology and requirements, costs and benefits, and mission needs.
Serve as a recognized technical authority for new or enhanced information systems software.
Assists in planning, directing, and coordinating the implementation and execution of approved policies, programs, or services related to information technology systems.
Requirements

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS) at (GS-2210-14), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you're applying to.
If you are a current or former government employee on a permanent appointment in the competitive service, you will need to demonstrate 1-year (52-weeks) at the next lower grade level, to meet the time-in-grade requirements for this occupational series and grade. Additionally, please ensure to submit an applicable SF-50 (please refer to the "required documents" section for additional information).
Basic Requirement: To qualify for the position of IT Specialist (SYSANALYSIS), GS-2210-14, all applicants must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below:
(1) Attention to Detail: Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail.
(2) Customer Service: Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services.
(3) Oral Communication: Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
(4) Problem Solving: Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualifications listed below:
Specialized Experience: For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-13 grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is defined as: Analyzing equipment needs for information technology or telecommunications systems; Conducting systems analysis of information technology software or systems; AND Using information technology project management principles, methods, or practices.
Time-in-Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-13).
