Duties
You will serve as Senior Systems Engineering Technician for advance Planning and waterfront support of submarines and submersibles.
You will perform or direct planning, installation and testing of equipment and systems involved during a ship’s depot and intermediate level availability.
You will evaluate project objectives, identities most economical and efficient procedures for performance verification.
You will consults with vendor personnel to resolve difficult and complex problems prior to and during systems installation and/or test.
You will reviews and evaluates design drawings, material requirements and certifications.
You will assist in training new engineers and engineering technicians in the organization.
You will prepare and review documents, such as Job Summaries, Task Group Instructions (TGIs), Deficiency Logs (DLs), Deficiency Reports (DRs), technical reports, estimates, status reports, instructions, procedures and correspondence.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
GS-12
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Developing plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
Testing and troubleshooting various submarine systems.
Interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work.
Negotiating and justifying projects to managers on conflicting priorities such as meeting technical requirements, standards and funding, scheduling or operational constraints to meet goals and objectives.
Implementing plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
GS-11
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-10 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Developing plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
Testing and troubleshooting various submarine systems.
Interpreting engineering drawings, technical manuals, or other technical materials in the performance of naval architectural work.
Assisting with the negotiating and justifying of projects to managers on conflicting priorities such as meeting technical requirements, standards and funding, scheduling or operational constraints to meet goals and objectives.
Assisting with the implementation of plans associated with the functional design, performance and evaluation of various submarine systems, their components, equipment, and subsystems.
