This position is for a HR SPEC, PD# T5910700 , part of the Nevada National Guard. The purpose of this position is to: The incumbent performs assigned personnel management duties for a specified functional or organizational area in two or more of the specialized personnel series.
Duties
1. Performs routine personnel management functions in assigned areas.
2. Responds to requests for information.
3. Performs limited research and analysis of applicable laws, regulations, policy, etc. and prepares summaries and recommendations for action. As assigned, performs designated segments of more complex personnel assignments of higher-graded specialists.
4. Advises management, employees, and/or the public on personnel related matters.
5. Performs other duties as assigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Skilled in collecting and analyzing data effectively, efficiently, and accurately; Ability to clearly enunciate English without impediment of speech that would interfere or prohibit efficient communication. Ability to write English in reports and presentation formats; Ability to communicate clearly and effectively; Skilled in presenting formal training presentations and briefings; Ability to assess body language and perceive emotional and/or distress levels; and, Skilled in applying procedures and directives by reading and interpreting program material.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Must have 24 months of specialized experiences which provided a basic working knowledge of National Guard missions, organizations, and personnel programs. Must have a basic knowledge and experiences of personnel programs gained in a classroom or as an on-the-job trainee. Have knowledge-based competency of human resources business elements and can discuss terminology, concepts, principles, and issues related to this competency. Experienced in using references and resource materials and experienced in program functions such as, maintaining personnel records, counseling, or classification and assignments. Experiences may include performing personnel functions associated with preparing and maintaining position descriptions and manual records, personnel classification or usage, quality force management, managing personnel records and researching record data. Experienced in operating a computer and using varied computer programs.

There is no specific education requirement for this position. The applicant's record of experience and/or training must show possession of the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position.
