This position is located in the Architect of the Capitol, Office of Inspector General seeks an exceptional candidate to serve as an Auditor. The Auditor plans, executes and reports the results of individual and concurrent audits, reviews and evaluations.

Qualifications
You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level. Candidates for the GS-09 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level in the Federal service.Specialized experience for this position includes having 3 out of the 5:
1. Skilled in theories, concepts, principles and practices of accounting, auditing and/or financial management to perform reviews that involve inter-relationships between programs, systems, policies and various issues.
2. Skilled in application of the Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards and/or Quality Standards for Inspections and Evaluations.
3. Conducting audits and evaluations on programs and operations of a federal agency or non-government entity.
4. Conducting analysis of accounting, financial management and/or internal control systems resulting in recommendations and/or corrective actions.
5. Skilled in construction scheduling and claims, project management, operational reviews or government contract laws and regulations.
Education
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements for this position, applicants must possess the following:
Degree: auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting.
Or
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or
Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
