This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, LANTAREA, CGD Eight (D8), Command Cadre (D8), in New Orleans, LA.
Duties
This position is located in the Eighth Coast Guard District, Response Division (D8), New Orleans, LA. The incumbent serves as the Catastrophic Incident Search and Rescue (CISAR) expert, responsible for managing the D8 flood punt program.
Requirements

- Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Secret clearance is required.
- Must be fluent in English language. (speaking, reading, and writing).
- The position requires a valid state driver's license.
Qualifications
Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the federal service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include: developing detailed plans, goals, and objectives for the long-range implementation and administration of the aviation CISAR and flood punt programs and developing criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of these program initiatives; experience serving as an advisor and subject matter expert to headquarter and area leadership, and help determine the future service wide program; coordinating and participating in flood punt response, training and exercise efforts and assisting in the research and testing of new equipment for flood operations.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
