This position is located within the Eastern Oklahoma VA Health Care System, (EOVAHCS) Ernest Childers Outpatient Clinic, Business Office, Tulsa, Oklahoma. This position supports Business Office activities throughout the EOVAHCS Tulsa catchment area.
Duties
Duties:
Performs administrative work, which includes management of office's schedule or day-today plans.
Develops routine plans or schedules using standard references and existing information.
Based on defined objectives, determines specific steps, input required, and/or milestones. Identifies schedule/time required and estimates resources required.
Plans, develops, maintains and reviews service data collection methodologies, records and techniques.
Prepares corrective action plans and makes appropriate recommendations for improvements in data collection/maintenance and work flow processes.
Searches, gathers, collects, retrieves, extracts, compiles and/or displays reporting statistical data.
Records and transcribes minutes and maintains files for future references.
Performs office automation duties using such software applications as Outlook Mail, desktop publishing, calendar, Excel and Power Point.
Serves in a liaison capacity between the supervisors, staff and Assistant Business Office Manager, Business Office Manager and other services.
Maintains communications with persons and groups from both within and outside the organization, speaking for the principal on administrative issues.
Acts as a liaison or handles the communications with persons and/or groups within and outside of an organization or office.
Performs basic analysis of all data and generates a variety of reports.
Serves on Medical Center committees upon request, Process Improvement System Redesign Team and other committees as appropriate.
Assists the Chief in briefing new personnel of the medical center and service's rules and policies on the protection of sensitive data from disclosure and misuse, protection of government property and the reporting of fraud, waste and abuse.
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)

Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-05 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Processing administrative forms or documents for the service; Preparing reports and tabular material; Providing information regarding the administrative functions of the office; Interacting with managers, supervisors and staff members on matters related to administrative services by attending meetings and serving on appropriate work teams/groups; Maintaining tracking logs, action items, and other data..

Physical Requirements: The work requires both sitting and standing, frequent walking throughout the facility, considerable reading, writing and use of the computer. Some minor lifting, bending and carrying light items is required.
