About the Position: This position is with the US Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles District, Planning Division, Plan Formulation Branch, Water Resources Planning Section B located in Arcadia, CA, Oxnard, CA, Norwalk, CA, Los Angeles, CA, Carlsbad, CA, Phoenix, AZ, or Tucson, AZ;

Duties
Determines the scope of the project and detailed study objectives, develops study concepts, and defines approaches to completion of the various study elements.
Conducts studies, either directly or by guiding the work of project team members or subordinates.
Reviews component parts of studies prepared by others and schedules work components prepared by others.
Analyzes and interprets findings resulting from studies, and incorporates them into feasibility, project or special reports.
Independently planning, directing and coordinating a number of multipurpose, comprehensive and regional/statewide water resource civil works projects

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. In addition to meeting the basic education requirements above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirement listed below:
Specialized Experience:
For GS-11 : I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 grade level in the Federal service which includes service which includes assisting senior study managers performing water resources planning feasibility studies and analysis in one of the following areas: economic, social, environmental, ecological, engineering, cultural and aesthetic aspects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09.
OR
Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Water Resources Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
For GS-12 : I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in Federal service which includes performing water resources planning feasibility studies and analysis in one of the following areas: economic, social, environmental, ecological, engineering, cultural and aesthetic aspects.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-11.
In addition to meeting the basic education requirement and the qualifications requirement above, to qualify for the 0193 Archeologist position you must also meet the selective placement factor listed below:
You must have successfully completed a master's degree or equivalent graduate degree in archeology, anthropology, or closely related field plus: At least one year of full-time professional experience or equivalent specialized training in archaeological research, administration, or management; AND at least four months of supervised field and analytic experience in general North American archeology; AND demonstrated ability to carry research to completion.
