About the Position: Serves as a SPL Senior Planning Section Chief for Environmental Justice and Community Engagement, Tribal Affairs, and Resiliency.

Duties
Responsible for independently planning, directing and coordinating a number of multipurpose, comprehensive and water resource civil works partnering opportunities and projects
with concerns such as flood control, watersheds, water supply, recreation, power, navigation, preservation and enhancement of fish and wildlife, environmental restoration and other water resources development
Conducts studies, either directly or by guiding the work of project team members or subordinates.
Determines water resources problems and needs improvements. Using ingenuity and professional judgment, conceives, formulates, designs, and analyzes possible alternative structural and non-structural solutions to alleviate problems identified.
Consults with and makes recommendations to the Branch Chief, concerning other social effects analysis, community engagement, study management,
including adjusting work assignments to best utilize available capabilities, recognizing merit and encouraging suggestions, and orientation of Engineer-Trainees.
Serves as first-level supervisor with full responsibility for the technical and administrative oversight of Section personnel Represents the District in dealings with other agencies and local governments.

In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes: coordinating civil water resources planning studies, as well as coordinating analysis of project impact to communities and quantifying benefits to those communities.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
