About the Position: This position is with the USSOUTHCOM Operations Directorate, Current Operations Division, located in Miami, Florida.

Duties

Provide training to staff and leadership on readiness analysis and use of the Defense Readiness Reporting System (DRRS). Prepare SOUTHCOM leadership for high level forums at the 3 and 4-star level. Work with Lieutenant Colonel and Colonel-level military to assist in briefings to Generals and Flag Officers. Conduct regular coordination with Joint Staff and office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). Assist in the preparation, coordination and review of the command-wide monthly readiness assessments. Identify key issues affecting unit readiness at the operation and strategic level.

Requirements

• This is a drug testing position. This position is subject to a pre-employment screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.
• This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 15% of the time.
• This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
