The primary purpose of this position is to serve as Subject Matter Expert in NWRM (Nuclear Weapons Related Materials) and logistics functions supporting the AFSC specified mission, weapons system or other designated program(s).

Duties

Serve as the expert logistician for assigned program(s) and as focal point to plan, manage, coordinate, evaluate, report on and brief NWRM programs and task status up to MAJCOM-level senior leaders. Reviews and interprets DoD and Air Force policies and procedures for the purpose of developing overall Air Force implementation strategy. Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other coordinating organizations. Provided inputs on complex topics, issues, projects, and programs, prepares and delivers written correspondence and oral presentations used to secure support for budget, resolves controversial issues, conveys proposed changes to assigned programs or systems, and provides critical status to senior leaders.

Qualifications

Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Group Coverage Qualification Standards Administrative and Management. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-12, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes using the knowledge of concepts, principles, procedures, regulations, laws, and instructions applicable to the Logistics; providing technical assistance to supervisor regarding duties; and preparing programs, policies, and activities regarding logistics NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-12 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-13 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: 1. Extensive knowledge of supply chain risk management and process analysis techniques, and ability to conduct research and develop timely and economically viable solutions. 2. Ability to originate new ideas, studies, and methodologies and to plan and execute intricate multifaceted projects. 3. Knowledgeable in Supply Management Activity Group (SMAG) system integration and technical data organizational structure, methods, practices, policies, procedures, and information systems in support of the mission. 4. Ability to organize lead special study teams and task forces with members from across AF and different services. 5. Ability to identify problems and develop innovative solutions. 6. Ability to plan, organize, gather, analyze, and present data and supporting analyses. 7. Ability to maintain good working relations. 8. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
