This position is located at the VA Medical Center in East Orange, NJ. The Program Support Assistant (Office Automation) performs various administrative and clerical duties in support of the service. The Program Support Assistant(OA) provides clerical and administrative support to the leadership team for the Whole Health (WH) Service, including the VISN sponsor, the Clinical Director of Whole Health, the Whole Health Program Manager, and the Whole Health Analyst.
Qualifications

TYPING PROFICIENCY: This position requires the skills of a qualified typist. In addition to meeting the experience and/or education requirements, you must be able to type at least 40 words per minute. ~AND~
To qualify for this position at the GS-6 level, applicants must meet the following:
Specialized Experience: You must have at least one (1) full year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-5) in Federal Service, that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of a Program Support Assistant (Office Automation), GS-6 position, and that is typically in or related to the work of this position. Specialized experience includes: performing a full range of administrative support for an office; receiving visitors and phone calls; reviewing all incoming and outgoing correspondence; scheduling meetings; and utilizing office automation software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The work is sedentary. Typically, the person in this position may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending and carrying of light items like papers or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
