Duties
This position is located in Martinsburg, WV, within the USCG National Maritime Center (NMC), External Audit Staff, Team 1. The incumbent serves as a specialist in the areas of mariner national and international training and mariner credentialing compliance requirements, examination of marine personnel enforcement, and the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) audit scheme and ensures continuity between senior leadership and field level auditor activities and mariner training provider (MTP) compliance measures, and is responsible for supervising a team of personnel who conduct compliance audits of mariner training facilities and processes including alternate sites, audits courses, curricula, instructor performance, and mariner training completion certificates.Being a Coast Guard civilian makes you a valuable member of the Coast Guard team. Qualifications
At the GS-12 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the federal service.
Specialized experience is the experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of the position and is typically in or related to this line of work. Examples of specialized experience include:
Experience managing, formulating guidelines, implementing new programs, providing policy interpretation for audit, enforcement, and compliance work.
Understanding of ISO auditing principles and standards, the risks involved with auditing, and the value to the public derived from regular auditing.
Demonstrated experience of professionally preparing correspondence and technical material relating to the audit program.
Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting guidance documents and providing instruction in their application to auditors, auditee’s and other personnel.
